The Mead Up!--April 18th

A one day gathering celebrating the arts of boozy herbal fermentation. Come join in a home brew swap and trade your bottle of brew or fermented food for another! Jump in a workshop led by local experts and learn about herbal mixed drinks, to make a new style of mead, or walk away with some sweet new vinegar making skills. Follow all that up with a delicious pot luck dinner followed by Caleb’s signature Mead Circle as seen at the Roots Rendezvous. Space for camping Saturday night will be provided, please bring all your camping and food needs!

The Nitty Gritty:

April 18th Noon-till Late

Mead Swap 12-12:45

Bring your brews, pickles or other fermented goodies and swap/barter with others! As always, trade at your own risk.

Workshops 1:00-4:00

  • Herbal Mixed drinks w/ Nat Palmer

  • Traditional Mead Making w/ Emily Vinson

  • The Mysteries of Acetobacter (Vinegars) instructor to be announced

Pot Luck 4:30-6:00

Please bring a tasty dish to share with folks at the gathering. We will have limited fridge space for potluck dishes but I expect things will be plenty cool and safe if left in your car for the afternoon. Please document any allergens in your food such as nuts, gluten, dairy, fish/shellfish, etc. Please eat responsibly if you have an allergy. 

Mead Circle: 6:00-Late

The Mead Circle will be open to all regardless of if you brought a bottle to share. Those who have a bottle of brew will have the opportunity to share your concoction with others as we all celebrate yeast and honey together! If you’re staying for the Mead Circle it is assumed that you are not driving home. Camping is available on site. Please pull yourself out of your tents and wave goodbye by 10:30AM on Sunday.
